ReportTirta Tarum took shape in 1977, when the Director General of Human Settlements issued a decree establishing BPAM Karawang. Ten years later, Regional Regulation No.013/1987 converted it into PDAM Karawang — May 23 was set as the company's founding date.
The name changed to PDAM Tirta Tarum in 2010. In 2021, through Regional Regulation No.003/2021, it became Perumdam Tirta Tarum Karawang — the legal form that stands today.
Nearly 50 years is no small stretch. There were times when infrastructure lagged and customers grew faster than capacity could handle. But service never stopped.
